13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony.

Today is another words of encouragement from God to us. We thank God for words of encouragement like this that is helping us not to lose hope even when the situation look hopeless. This passage of the Bible that is our text is the word of Jesus Christ, our Saviour. Jesus Christ was telling His disciples about things that they will encounter, how rough it will be just because they choose the Gospel message of Jesus Christ, people will persecute them, because they don't know Jesus Christ and because what the disciples are preaching is strange to what they have believed and practiced before. So they are going to mock them, give them public disgrace, and all sorts of humiliation. But they should be encouraged because it will turn to testimony for them eventually. No pain no gain is the popular saying. One of the ways it can turn to testimony is if those who once persecuted for preaching the gospel eventually accept their teachings, it has turned into testimony. Another way it can turn to testimony is, if while being tortured then one of those people torturing them decide to favour them and save them from the problems, or eventually they are justified and they are no longer being punished for preaching the gospel, it has also turned into testimony. 

In our lives today, how do we compare. I first explained using the disciples because that is a general example, but in our personal lives now, each individual, our experiences are different. I may not know all but let me give few examples that are likely to occur when we choose to do God's will. An example is, if you as a girl need money probably for school fees or to pay rent, then the option coming to you are those men who are willing to give you money but you will have to send your nudes videos to them. If you choose not to go in their way, you may miss your exams because you didn't pay, your landlord might send you out of the house because you didn't pay your rent, you might even have to be homeless for a while but God is saying today that it will surely turn into testimony. As our little knowledge as human beings, we can't predict how great God can move, we don't even know how far God is working yet, that is why Jesus in His teachings tell us not to take thought of what we will eat or drink, or what we will wear and even shelter because our heavenly Father is already thinking about them for us, the reason for this teaching is so we don't try solving things by sinful options. When we leave all to God and let the fear of God be at the center of our decisions, God will surely take all the glory and He will not put us to shame for trusting Him. Even if we have to suffer for a while, it will surely turn to testimony. We see in the case of Joseph in the Bible, it eventually turned into testimony for him. God wants to do same things for us too. God wants to show His wonders of how He helps His children who honour Him even in the face of temptations. May God help us to choose the fear of God above our needs and wants always. Amen. 

Prayers

1. My gracious Father and my Friend, I thank You for Your words again today that it will always turn into testimony for me whenever I choose to honour You than going into sin to help take care of my needs. Please accept my thanks and praises. 
2. My gracious Father and my Friend, please assist me always, I am human and I know it takes Your grace to reject sinful options when faced with needs and wants, give me Your grace always to choose to suffer honourably than to sin against You because I know it will always turn into testimony for me because I choose the fear of God. Amen.
