10 The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.


Today we want to discuss a popular topic. Everyone knows this in subconscious mind but in reality, people are forgetting it. Especially nowadays that pastors are making people to believe that power is in materials and physical things rather than teaching people that power is in the name of Jesus Christ and not in material things. 

While I was growing up, I was taught to use the name and blood of Jesus Christ for everything and in all situations and it always work. I don't know when everything changed that people nowadays believe in material things like oil more than the name of Jesus Christ. You hear testimonies like they were drinking the prayer oil and ulcer became healed, testimonies like they put oil on their CV and they got job. God warned the Israelites strongly not to have another god except Him. When God was to speak with the Israelites in the wilderness, there was thunder and lightning but God was not in the thunder and lightning, then God asked them, did they see see any image while He was speaking with them and they said No, then God says, it will be an abomination for them to put down an image later and say this is god. God knows the Egyptians always put something down which is physical to represent god, but Our God in Heaven is a Spirit, those that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in truth, you don't need to use any physical things to represent God, that is idolatry. 

We can call on the name of the Lord in the day of trouble and He will deliver us. We can use the blood of Jesus Christ by faith and it heals us. We can pray with the name of Jesus Christ and we will get a job. Using any material things as faith material is just bringing idolatry into the church. To the point that some pastors sell these material things now and tell their members to use it for breakthrough. If you will not accept the word of God in your heart, what you will be forced to accept will be lies and heavy load these pastors put on their members. These pastors even make you to see them as the ones who has done it hence you must pay for the miracle you receive. This is as a result of you not believing in the efficacy of the power in the name of Jesus Christ, that's why your pastors are making you see your miracles being given by the material things they give you. The name of Jesus Christ alone is enough to solve all for us. 

I want to encourage us to take out of our hearts the spirit of idol worship. Because I want to believe it is the willingness to practice Christianity like you do in the houses of herbalists and sorcerers that you visit that makes you bring idolatry into the church and the pastors seeing your hearts they too are not after the souls of men to be saved, they decided to do unto you according to what you want. All those bathing with some special soap or sponge is in idol worship, only the blood of Jesus Christ can wash our sins away, only the name and blood of Jesus Christ can remove curses, even if washing yourself with water and soap worked some wonders for you then it's most definitely not by the blood of Jesus Christ, it's by some powers of demons that has done it. Just apply the blood of Jesus Christ by faith on yourself and by faith and it is done. Even to was away our sins, the blood of Jesus Christ can do. Simple, Jesus wash me with Your blood and it's done. 

That is the message of God for us today. God that says we should call upon Him in the day of trouble and He will do wonders for us, He still stands by His words, He said anyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. The name of Jesus Christ is enough for us, you don't need any strange language they call speaking in tongues before your prayers are answered. What if these tongues are languages of some demons. Imagine calling names of demons for your miracles. The name of our God Jesus Christ is enough for us. God says whatever we ask in Him name He will do it for us. Cease from looking for wrong things let's return back to the true gospel which is using the name of our God alone without adding anything to it. May God help us. Amen. 

Prayers

  1. Jesus Christ, the name above every other names, the names that all powers on earth, in heaven and the sea bows to. I thank You for teaching me this day and reminding me how powerful Your name is, please be glorified Jesus Christ. Amen. 
  2. Jesus Christ, the name that is a strong tower, the name that is able to save in the days of trouble, please help me to continue to call on Your name alone at all times and not begin to seek solutions from small gods and idols. Amen.
